Document Description
The project will fund pilot studies for using algae feedstock and anaerobic digestion to support a biodiesel facility to be sited on the base. The project benefits the Navy by providing biodiesel to replace petroleum-based fuels and the public by demonstrating the cost-effectiveness and feasibility of alternative and renewable vehicle technology, thereby reducing reliance on petroleum fuels, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and reducing the impact of waste materials.
