Document Description
The project will systematically remove European beach grass, veldt grass, and other invasive species. The project will encourage native recovery through active seeding and planting in the dunes. Removal of invasive species will be performed by weed-whacking and manual removal. The project will protect a fragile ecosystem that is home to many rare, endemic, and/or threatened species. Removing European beach grasses will restore natural dune information and function, and will remove competition for native plants. Veldt grass removal and native seeding and planting will promote the recovery of dune scrub habitat, this benefitting native flora and fauna.
