The proposed Project would remove diagonally-growing willow trees impeding outflow from a 60-inch culvert. The trees would be cut at ground leveland the root wad left in the soil undisturbed. Built up sediment and root material would be removed from two (2) 24-inch culverts to facilitate drainage. A water jet and vacuum truck would be used to loosen and remove accumlated material from the culverts. Sediment would be manually removed from three (3) 48-inch culverts to enhance drainage. A rock-lined drainage swale would be built to direct runnoff flow toward San Luis Obispo Creek and minimize erosion.
This Project involves maintenance of exisitng structures with negligible expansion of a drainage swale and has no potential for significant environmental effect if completed under the protective features included in SAA #2010-0149-R4.
