Document Description
Addendum consists of adding 2012 to the 2011 GSNPB Study which includes installation and operation of an under-water Bio-Acoustic Fish Fence (BAFF) at the divergence of Georgiana Slough from the Sacramento River during part of the juvenile salmon migration period. The BAFF is being tested for its effectiveness as a behavioral deterrent to prevent out-migrating juvenile salmonids in the Sacramento River from entering into Georgiana Slough using a combination of sound, lights, and bubbles.
Following installation, the barrier would be operated for up to 60 days, beginning after February 1, 2012. Upon completion of operation, the entire barrier structure and associated structures and equipment would be removed. Barrier removal would be complete by the end of June 2012. All disturbed areas will be restored to pre-project conditions.
