Up to 60 tons per day of source separated commercial food waste would be collected by Allied Waste Service and transported to the CCTRS in Martinez for processing. The processed material would then be transported to the East Bay Municipal Utility District Main Wastewater Treatment Plan in Oakland where it would be fed into the plant's anaerobic digesters. The resulting methane gas would be beneficially used in EBMUD's Power Generation Station for energy production.
