- Document Description
- In October 2010, City of Menlo Park staff submitted a grant application for $350,000 to plant 1,000 native trees and shrubs at Bedwell Bayfront Park through the California Natural Resources Agency's Environmental Enhancement and Mitigation Program. The grant allows implementation of climate protection mitigation measures from widening 3.2 miles of Bayfront Expressway from four to six lanes in 2004 that resulted in increased carbon dioxide emissions. The city has not yet received the grant, and will be notified in March 2011. Conducting an environmental review of the proposed project will complete the grant application. If the City of Menlo Park receives the grant, the proposed project would install 1,000 trees and shrubs at Bedwell Bayfront Park.
