Document Description
UC Davis proposes o construct a temporary structure of ~ 18,000 sq ft and relocate a campus entry gate to expand the campus area closed o private vehicles. The temporary structure would be located on ~ two acres south of Hutchison Drive on Parking Lot 43 Immediately west of the Silo food service-area. Construction of the temporary building would remove ~ 80 parking spaces from use. Initially, the temporary building would provide space to operate bookstore sales during the planned renovation and expansion of the main campus bookstore. After temporary bookstore use, the temporary building could be used for other temporary uses in need of relocation space during planned construction or renovation of other campus buildings. Alternatively, the temporary building could be dismantled and removed after the bookstore use. After the temporary structure has been removed, there is no proposal to implement a replacement use. Possible options include reuse of the site as a parking lot or construction of a permanent building and consideration of those options would take place at the conclusion of the temporary building occupancy.
