Document Description
The project will fund the installation of 2 larger compressed natural gas (CNG) compressors will faster fueling capabilities at the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System's South Bay Bus Maintenance Facility. The new CNG compressors will replace the existing aged and undersized compressors at the facility, requiring minor trenching (3' deep x 20" wide x 100' long) on the facility property and replacement or modification of existing pipelines. The original concrete surface will be restored after the compressors are installed. The project benefits the San Diego urban area that is served by the Recipient's bus fleet and the public by reducing petroleum reliance, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and promoting the use of alternative fuels.
