Document Description
Placer County (County) and the Town of Truckee (the Town) developed the Truckee River Water Quality Monitoring Plan (TRWQMP) in accordance with two separate Board Orders issued by the Lahontan Regional Water Quality Control Board to the County and the Town. Placer County is now beginning implementation of Phase I of the TRWQMP which includes the collection of water quality and other data along the Truckee River and Several of its tributaries including Martis Creek, Squaw Creek, and Bear Creek. Phase 1 of this work, which could be implemented for up to 15 years, will include: Rapid Assessments (Visual Observations and Measurements), Bioassessments (Visual Observations, Measurements and Specimen Collection), Discrete Community Level Sampling (Water Samples Collected with Passive Sampling Equipment), and; Establishment and Operation of a Stream Flow Gauging Station.
