The project will fund the replacement of at least 500 existing electric vehicle infrastructure units with new units capable of connecting to a smart grid. Recipient will remove old electric vehicle charging units and replace them with upgraded units, using the existing pedestal. The project benefits electric vehicle users throughout California by providing new charging infrastructure, demonstrating the cost-effectiveness and feasibility of alternative and renewable vehicle technology, reducing reliance on petroleum fuels, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
