Document Description
The proposed project is funded by the State Water Resources Control Board, through the Clean Water Act (CWA) 319h- Nonpoint Source Implementation, to improve water quality in the Shasta River by decreasing temperatures and increasing dissolved oxygen through improved agricultural water management. The purpose of Phase Two (2) of a continuing project in the Shasta River Watershed, which identifies and implements projects to improve water quality through improved agricultural water management. This project will utilize the guidance provided in the Shasta River Watershed Tailwater Reduction Plan to implement high priority project that will capture tailwater from over one thousand (1000) acres of irrigated land and will eliminate the input of approximately ten (10) cfs of tailwater from returning to the River. The project also includes continuous tailwater monitoring and assist in furthering our understanding of tailwater throughout the watershed.
