- The Vaughn Water Company (WC) has submitted a Domestic Water Supply Permit Application to permit an already existing and operational domestic water supply well (Hageman #2 Well) and associated treatment system. The well was drilled between January 2004 and May 2004 under a ministerial permit issued by Kern County. The Project also includes the permitting of a GAC and ozone treatment system to treat water from the well. The treatment system was constructed in 2005 and placed in service in 2006. The capacity of the well is approximately 2,250 gpm and includes a 12.5% sodium hypochlorite disinfection system. Backwash from the BAC treatment system is periodically backwashed to an onsite retention basin.
