The RAW focuses on excavation and offsite disposal to mitigate soils impacted with excessive levels of organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) onsite. The purpose of the project is to mitigate impacted soils that exceed the project-specific human health and environmental risk criteria to minimize human exposure to the identified constituents of concern (COCs). The estimated volume of impacted soils is 602 cubic yards or approximately 35 truckloads. The clean-up goals in the RAW were developed to ensure that both students and faculty are protected from exposure to COCs that may remain after the excavation.
