Document Description
Catholic Funeral and Cemetery Services (applicant) - Roman Catholic Bishop of Oakland (Owner) request the expansion of the existing Queen of Heaven Cemetery on 1965 Reliez Valley Road Lafayette, California in the county of Contra Costa. The project proposes the construction of two (2) new chapels, parking spaces, reflecting pools, and culverts. Streambed and riparian areas are proposes to be altered during the project as well as the removal of forty-five (45) trees ranging in size from six (6) inches to sixty (35) inches in diameter, and to work within the dripline of up to six (6) trees ten (10) to sixty (60) inches in diameter. Mitigation is proposed through the designation of a 5.66 acre open space preserve, and the restoration of 0.866 acres of riparian/wetland areas, and the planting of two-hundred-twenty (220) trees/shrubs. The California Department of Fish and wildlife is executing a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement Number 1600-2012-0414-R3 pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, California Department of Transpiration, District 4.
