- The City of Twentynine Palms is considering the adoption of a Historic Plaza Overlay District. The City of Twentynine Palms is proposing to adopt a Negative Declaration for the proposed Historic Plaza Overlay District (generally location on the northwest corner of Adobe and Two Mile Roads, inclusive of the surrounding parcels). The adoption of a Historic Plaza Overlay District is to preserve and promote the historic value, heritage, and unique character of the plaza. This includes the general guidelines and standards to maintain the preserve the visual continuity of the historic plaza, including but not limited to permitted uses, design guidelines, sign criteria, parking requirements, Floor Area Ratio (FAR), etc. The project area includes properties with a General Commercial (CG) zoning and General Plan Land Use Designation.
