Document Description
The Riverside campus (UCR) proposes to enter into a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), or agreements, with a qualified solar energy photovoltaic (PV) system provider that will finance, design, install, own, operate and maintain a solar photovoltaic system on campus property. The solar PV array is proposed to be located on the West Campus on a site that is ~11 acres, comprised of two areas separated by and excluding an existing utility easement. The project requires an Amendment (#3) to the UC Riverside 2005 Long Range Development Plan to address the land use designation on the proposed project site. Proposed Amendment 3 creates a new land use designation, Campus Infrastructure Overlay, which permits temporary use of the land within the Overlay area for solar power projects while retaining the underlying, permanent LRDP land use designations approved by The Regents in the 2005 LRDP, as amended in July 2006 and November 2011.
