Document Description
Note: Shortened Review The project is the adoption and implementation of the Murrieta 2008-2014 Housing Element, which represents an update of the current General Plan Housing Element. The Housing Element is an integral component of the City's General Plan, as it addresses existing and future housing needs for person of all economic segments in the City. The City of Murrieta's long-term goal is to provide housing opportunities to meet the diverse needs of the community. The Initial Study assesses the potential impacts related to the provisions of adequate land to accommodate the City's remaining Regional Housing Needs Allocation (RHNA) of 2,631 housing units. The City has already achieved a portion of its RHNA with housing units accommodated on vacant residentially zoned land, including units constructed, under construction, and approved since January 2006.
