Document Description
The project applicant (City of Burbank Park, Recreation & Community Services Department) proposes to renovate a youth campground facility located adjacent the Stough Canyon Nature Center. The site previously functioned as a campground for local scout troops; however in 1962 the campground was destroyed by fire & closed. In 1994, the City acquired the property but no improvements have been made since. Proposed improvements to the site include, but are not limited to: installation of trees & shrubs to provide shade; dirt roads for emergency, fire, ADA, & maintenance access; hiking trails for campground access & recreation; restrooms, hand washing stations, & misc. water spouts; shade structures & amphitheater/group seating; signage program (campground information), and rehabilitation of existing facilities (building foundation, chimney, flagpole, etc.).
