Document Description
The purpose of the project is to enhance the interest satellite connection of the University's Landels-Hill Big Creek Reserve, and improve the transmission of the signal within the Reserve. The project will install a low-profile repeater station on a ridge approximately 3/4 mile from Highway 1 at an elevation of about 850 feet, and a 10-inch square mesh radio on each of two existing modern structures, the Gatehouse near Highway 1, and the Research Cabin at Whaler's Point. The repeater station would consist of a footlocker-size metal box with sealed batteries and electronics mounted on cement piers or pipes, powered by on-site solar panels, with a total footprint of 7 feet by 10 feet and a height of 6 feet.
