Document Description
The purpose of this project is to reduce and maintain fuel loads at safe levels; protecting the Pine Cove-Red Hill community from catastrophic wildfires. The community has been identified by Calfire and the Mountain Area Safety Taskforce (MAST) as being at risk to wildfire due to its terrain and high fuel loads. This project is a re-entry into a prior vegetation treatment project to maintain the effectiveness of the fuel break. The project includes approximately 43 privately owned parcels, encompassing about 300 acres of land. However, only 200 acres will require re-entry at this time.
