Document Description
The previously existing Independence water storage reservoir was destroyed during the INyo Complex Fire on July 7, 2007. The Inyo County Board of Supervisors proclaimed a local emergency on July 10, 2007, and Governor Schwarzenegger proclaimed a State of Emergency for Inyo County on July 11, 2007. Currently, five termporary 21,000-gallong-capacity water storage trailers are being used to store the domestic water supply for the twon of Independence. The objective of this project is to install two new permanent 200,000-gallon-capacity steel water storage tanks and associated appurtenances to replace the erservoir that was destroyed during the fire. THe new tanks will meet the current capacity requirements of the California Department of Health Services.
