Document Description
The project will replace the Fremont Avenue Bridge over Permanente Creek which is approaching the end of its useful life. The new bridge design includes demolition of the existing bridge structure and replacement with a new bridge widened to accommodate two 12 foot vehicle lanes with 5 foot wide bicycle lanes in both directions. The "crash rated" concrete barriers will have an aesthetic treatment to better match the existing adjacent wooden foot bridge located on the north side that will remain. Outside of the concrete barriers, an attached pedestrian sidewalk with creek overlook feature is to be constructed on the south side of the bridge.
