Document Description
Butte County proposes to adopt a wind turbine ordinance (See Appendix A) which would allow small wind turbines in agricultural, timber production, industrial, commercial, unclassified, foothill recreational, mountain recreation, and public/quasi-public zones with minor use permits (A, TPZ, M-1, M-2, L-I, C-1, C-2, C-C, P-Q, R-P, AR, FR, TM, MR, U, N-C, H-C, and PQ). It would allow large turbines in these same mostly non-residential zones with the issuance of a use permit. It would prohibit the placement of wind turbines in the County's more dense residential zones (SR, MHP, R-1, R-2, R-3, and R-4, SH, PUD, RN, and RT), as summarized in Table A below.
