Document Description
Environmental review of a proposal by the Public Works Department to widen approximately 0.30 mile of Van Buren Boulevard between Jurupa Avenue and the Santa Ana River Bridge. Proposed improvements include, but are not limited to, widening Van Buren Boulevard between Jurupa Avenue and the Santa Ana Bridge to accommodate the ultimate roadway configuration of three travel lanes in each direction with a raised center median, installation of concrete curb and sidewalk, drainage improvements, retaining walls, and reconstruction of portions of the existing bike path. Similar to road widening projects directly to north and south, Van Buren Boulevard will be striped for three lanes in each direction at Jurupa Avenue and transition to two lanes in each direction near the Santa Ana River Bridge. The improvements are proposed to reduce traffic congestion and accommodate future traffic growth. The widening will require right of way acquisition from one parcel.
