Document Description
Note: Revised/Extended Review. The Proposed Project includes two separate development activities; the Hudson Ranch Power II Geothermal Flash Power Plant (HR2) and the Simbol Calipatria Plant II (SmCP 2) mineral extraction plant on agricultural land within the Salton Sea known Geothermal Resource Area in Imperial County, California. The proposed HR2 project consists of a 49.9 MW geothermal power plant, supporting geothermal production and injection wells/pipelines; and, an interconnection to the Imperial Irrigation District's existing electrical transmission system. The proposed SmCP-2 is a lithium carbonate production plant located adjacent to the HR2 site. SmCP-2 would use geothermal brine from the HR2 plant to produce lithium carbonate and other products for commercial sale and would not be developed without the HR2 project.
