Grease waste within Eastern Municipal Water District's (District) Perris Valley Regional Wastewater Reclamation Facility (PVRWRF) service area totals more than 5 million gallons per year (GPY) and is currently primarily disposed of in landfills at considerable expense and cost to the environment. This waste material has the potential to produce biodiesel suitable for use in the District's fleet of diesel-powered vehicles and stationary engines.
