Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes to repair a river bank scour condition (Project) that has developed on the Russian River, adjacent to the Geyserville Bridge on State Route 128 in Sonoma County. The intent of the Project is to provide a repair that will resists scour and redirect flow while incorporating willow, cottonwood plantings, and submerged logs (woody material) to create riparian and fish habitat. The Project is intended as a short term solution. After 2 years of monitoring the completed Project, Caltrans will coordinate with the Department of Fish and Game (DFG) to determine the best approach for the long term solution at this site. The total area a volume of fill will be .46 acres and 2,115 cubic feet respectively. SAA #1600-2010-0320-R3.
