Document Description
The Project activities include ongoing maintenance of the City of Santa Cruz Water Department's diversion intake by removing sediment and woody debris around the intake, installation of a trashrack upstream of the diversion dam, and vegetation clearing along the banks of Majors Creek. Initially, approximately 10 cubic yards of sediment will be removed upstream of the diversion dam. After material has been initially removed from the intake, future management of sediment transport via passive bypass through the upper gate will be guided by a formal protocol to reduce subsequent future inundation of the intake, and to ensure maintenance of sediment transport dynamics. SAA #1600-2009-0404-R3.
