Document Description
This project in involves the excavation of a 10 meter deep post hole for the installation of an array, with a real-time strong motion accelerometer. The project will be located at Toner site. 33.1442, 116.1197. Project location can be adjusted to minimize or eliminate environmental impacts. Structure will include a small solar panel and an instrument cluster mounted to a post. This is one of 6 arrays in Year 1 deployed for 18 months. Emphasis will be made to understanding the structure and seismicity of each of the respective segments and to enhance the understanding of large stepovers and junctions between fault sections in the Helmet stepover and the Triburcation sections. The array data also will be used for near fault tomographic studies as well as source studies.
