Document Description
The Western Divide Ranger District of the Sequoia National Forest proposes make improvements to the Fishermen's Trail (30E29), here after referred to as Trail, along the Middle Fork Tule River (Tule River). The Trail is in deteriorated condition and has evidence of erosion problems, as well as vegetation growing into and hindering travel on the Trail. Current conditions make the Trail difficult to use, displacing visitors onto nearby user-created trails that lack engineering to minimize environmental impacts . New user-created trails continue to appear as users find their own path to the Tule river, in order to minimize future creation of user-created trails in the area. Deteriorated conditions of the Trail, including non-functioning drainage features and poor erosion control, is contributing to soil erosion in the Tule River watershed.
