Document Description
This project will replace a pair of 48 inch culverts that form part of the return channel from the forebay pond to the Yuba River with a single concrete box culvert to improve water flow at various river stages, reduce debris loading, and reduce maintenance. This will involve isolating the existing culverts in the return section downstream of the forebay pond, replacing the existing steel culverts with a concrete box culvert, then restoring the site. The work will be completed when there are no diversions from the river through the rock gabion fish barrier, so there should be minimal flow through the forebay pond. The culvert replacement work site will be isolated from the river during the culvert removal and box culvert installation. Temporary barriers will installed immediately upstream and downstream of the work area. Temporary barriers may be local material plus impervious membranes or a portable barrier. Water will be pumped out of the work area upstream into the forebay area to keep sit out of the river.
