Document Description
The project will fund the demonstration of 10 Freightliner M2 heavy-duty hybrid trucks equipped with and powered by a combination of the ultra-clean Cummins Westport dedicated natural gas engine and a state-of-the-art BAE Systems battery electric hybrid drive system. The new hybrid trucks will benefit the public by reducing greenhouse gas emissions and particulate matter emissions, reducing dependence on petroleum fuels, and demonstrating the effectiveness of alternative fuels and renewable energy.
