Document Description
The proposed project includes the replacement of the existing Cathedral Bridge with a new clear span, prefabricated steel beam and truss bridge. Supporting cast-in-place concrete piers will be placed at the upper banks of Lockhart Gulch; abutments for the bridge would be placed at the top edge of the creek bank. The existing piers will be removed with a long-reach excavator from above the creek channel using cable and chain to secure and move the piers. There may need to be some hand digging around the pier footings to loosen them such that they can then be hoisted out with the crane.
