Document Description
The project proposes two Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs) for the DWR's Bryte Chemical Laboratory site. The first measure (lighting) includes replacing existing inefficient indirect light fixtures with lower wattage higher efficiency light fixtures throughout the building and installing LED exit signs. This ECM will provide energy efficiency upgrades. The second measures (HVAC) includes converting the existing constant volume, 11-zone AHU to 11 seperate units with new high efficiency cooling and furnace equipment for each zone. Also, the existing cooling tower will be replaced with new hgih efficiency tower of similar footprint, size and color. The existing units are old, inefficient and at the end of their useful lives. Replacing the units with new equipment will result in energy savings, because the current units are less efficient than the modern equipment. Additional efficiency will be gained with installation of a variable frequency drive for the existing chiller. The construction contractor will follow any hazardous material waste handling and disposal with respect to appropriate local, state and federal rules/regulations.
