- Document Description
- The project will fund the installation of an anaerobic digester for wastewater sludge and effluent at the Sacramento Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant using a process developed at the Argonne National Laboratory to increase biomethane production and sequester carbon dioxide during the digestion process. The recaptured biomethane will be compressed for use in compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles. This process will benefit the state of California by reducing greenhouse gas emissions, reducing reliance on petroleum fuel, reducing impacts from current waste disposal processes, and increasing economic development through the production of CNG fuel.
