Document Description
Enhance and maintain the native coastal prairie plant communities of Carmelo Meadow and Mound Meadow at Point Lobos State Natural Reserve by removing encroaching trees and performing prescribed burns. * Carmelo Meadow: Remove small pine trees and shrubs by cutting them down, placing them in piles, and either conducting pile-burns or disposing of the vegetation off-site. * Mound Meadow: Manually install approximately 2985 linear feet of 1.5 foot wide fire line on the perimeter of the meadow where roads and trails cannot be used as fire lines. Conduct prescribed burn on approximately 8.4 acres and apply herbicide to the remaining stumps of any remaining coyote brush (Baccharis pilularis) to prevent stump-sprouting.
