Smartville Road Bridge Replacement

The Yuba County Public Works Department is seeking environmental approval of the Smartville Road Bridge Replacement project which seeks to replace the existing structurally deficient bridge that spans Vineyard Creek along Smartville Road just south of its intersection with Waldo Road and north of the "Grass Valley" entrance gate for Beale Air Force Base (AFB). The proposed project includes replacing the existing timber trestle bridge with a three span reinforced concrete bridge, the roadway approach shoulders leading up to the bridge will be widened, temporary new drainage culverts will be installed, and utilities relocated. This portion of Smartville Road is located 6 miles south of the intersection of State Highway Route 20 and Smartville Road in the River Highlands Community Plan, and south of the community of Smartsville.
