The SSJID is proposing to renew the 1997 Water Transfer Agreement between SSJID and Stockton East Water District (SEWD) and continue to transfer up to 15,000 af of surface water annually between October 1 and September 30 over a 10 yr period through existing conveyance facilities to the SEWD. The transferred surface water would be used by SEWD and its customers (City of Stockton, CA Water Service Company, Lincoln Village Maintenance District, and Colonial Heights Maintenance District) primarily for municipal and industrial (M&I) use in order to reduce reliance on gorundwater pumping and to enhance recovery of the Eastern San Joaquin Groundwater Basin.
