Document Description
The proposed project is a General Plan (GP) for Old Sacramento State Historic Park, an existing state park, and a CA State Railroad Museum (CSRM), a new planned state historic park. The project is located in the northern part of Old Sacramento in Downtown Sacramento and includes 16 plus miles of the Sacramento Southern Railroad right-of-way area and the facilities and grounds for a future Railroad Technology Museum. The purpose of the GP is to define & evaluate proposed land uses, facilities, concessions, management, & operation of the both state parks and to discuss their environmental impacts. The GP will guide development, management, and operation of both parks. OSSHP interprets the Gold Rush and significance of early Sacramento history and commerce in a park setting. CSRM interprets the development and significance of the railroad in a museum setting.
