Document Description
The Project will upgrade the WWTF to provide tertiary treatment, meet requirements of the City's Waste Discharge Requirements and National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit, and allow the discharge of tertiary treated effluent into the San Joaquin River year round, of needed. The Project is a subset of a larger project to construct a 2.75 million gallon per day (mgd) tertiary treatment system within the WWTF, and will involve constructing a 12.6 mgd tertiary treatment system by installing three aeration basins, six membrane bioreactor, ultraviolet disinfection systems, pump stations, structures and other associated equipment.
