Document Description
the Project involves the expansion of the Upper Sand Creek flood cotnrol basin in order to provide increased flood protection. The Project is located in the lower Marsh Creek watershed in East Contra Costa County. The Project will expand the existing 49-acre basin to approximately 61.5 acres, increasing its flood storage capacity from 123-acre to approximately 900-acre feet. The expansion will consist of excavating the existing basin floor and building a dam to create a deeper basin where water will be held and slowly released downstream during major storm events.
