Document Description
The proposed RCCD Market Street Properties project (herein referred to as the project; includes the development of a facility to house District offices and RCC Culinary Arts program and renovation and restoration of the Heiting Building into a gallery and archives center, as further described below). The project involves demolition of the existing Plaza Hotel (~20,250 sf) and the existing RCCD System Office buildings consisting of ~ 17,620 sf of building space to provide for the construction of a three story building of 51,600 sf atop a two story sub-grade parking structure of 46,600 sf. The proposed project also includes restoration of the exterior facades of the Heiting building (former Citrus Belt Savings and Loan Building), and renovation of the facility to provide for a gallery and archives center. The proposed new office/culinary arts building will be located along Market Street from the corner of University Avenue to the Heiting building. The ~0.58 acre project site has been planned for the relocation of the Culinary Arts program along with the consolidation of all the RCCD administrative functions that are currently located at separate sites through the District. The art gallery and archives center, within the renovated Heiting building, will house existing and loaned collections of the district.
