Document Description
The project would demolish an existing 140-space surface parking lot and existing landscaping located at the Moreno Valley College and replace the lot with an 800-space, four-story (1 floor belowground and 3 floors aboveground) parking garage facility. This will provide a net benefit of 660 parking spaces in order to service an existing need for appropriate on college parking. In addition, the parking garage will house a number of office spaces for college staff, meeting rooms, and a small retail bookstore. The project site is located towards the northwestern corner of the college, just north of College Drive and east of Lasselle Street. The parking garage will be designed and built following LEED standards of design and will include photovoltaic panels over the fourth floor of the garage to supply power to the entire project site once operational. A number of drainage and storm water upgrades are proposed for the site.
