Document Description
The City of Atascadero's Bicycle Transportation Plan is a planning document which provides a blueprint for the development of a comprehensive bicycling system throughout the City. The plan proposes both physical projects, such as new bike lanes, striping, and signage, as well as policies to encourage growth of the City's bikeway network. The General Plan Bikeway and Trails Diagram and the General Plan Circulation Element Goals, Policies, and Programs have been used as guides ensure consistency with the 2002 adopted General Plan. The proposed bike plan contains specific information required by Section 891.2 of the California Streets and Highways Code and addresses all of the requirements needed to be eligible for State grants under the Bicycle Transportation Account (BTA) program, as well as other State, local, and Federal grants.
