Document Description
The 3rd Street Corridor Specific Plan represents the first phase of the update of the East Los Angeles Community plan as adopted by the County of Los Angeles in 1988. The second phase of the update of the East Los Angeles Community Plan will occur at a later and will update the community plan for all areas of East Los Angeles outside of the Specific Plan Area. The proposed Specific Plan defines a vision and a set of development principles to guide future development within the Specific Plan Area over the next 20 years. The development principles contained in the Specific Plan are based on the principles of transit-oriented development, which offer compact, sustainable, human scale and pedestrian-friendly planning solutions as an alternative to an automobile-oriented development pattern.
