The purpose of the project is to accommodate increased traffic demands by improving levels of service, enhance safety by allowing faster traffic to pass slower vehicles and by separating opposing lanes of traffic, and to provide route continuity. The State Lands Commission actions are the sale and issuance of a patent of 17.13 gross acres, more or less, of State-owned school land; issuance of an archaeological permit; and approval a Public Agency Permit and a General Lease – Public Agency Use.
