Document Description
The project is limited to excavating a trench, immediately west of U.S. Route 395, for the relocation and installation of an underground fiber-optic cable. The fiber-optic cable trench will impact the bed, bank and channel at seven (7) locations subject to Fish and Game Code 1602 resources. Excavators, loaders/skidsteers, ditch-witch and pickup trucks will be utilized to excavate the trenches. Access to the Project site will be from U.S. Route 395 or from existing dirt roads. Trenching activities will require vegetation removal within areas subject to Fish and Game Code section 1602, but no woody vegetation = 4-inches diameter at breast height will be removed. This Project is not the whole Project and is associated with the larger Caltrans Olancha-Cartago Four-Lane Project (1600-2020-0008-R6).
