Document Description
Located on various streets and intersections surrounding 18 schools in the City of Sunnyvale, this project will provide infrastructure improvements that will enhance student safety and security through a reduction of vehicular speeds, reduction in pedestrian crossing distances and better accessibility. Specific improvements to be constructed as part of this project include: retrofitting signalized intersections with countdown pedestrian signals, installing in-road lighted crosswalks, reducing corner radii, constructing intersection bulb-outs, constructing ADA compliant curb ramps and enhancing signing and pavement markings. No right-of-way is required for this project, and all facilities, staging area and construction activities will be restricted to public property.
