Document Description
The goals of the proposed project are three-fold. 1) to measurably reduce sediment leading to the estuary's remaining open water and critical wetland habitat. 2) to reduce long-term sediment loading rates in the watershed; and 3) to provide a replicable model for landowner training. To achieve these goals, the project will fund the restoration of five actively eroding sites identified as high priority in an extensive 2007 erosion site survey. Restoration of the five sites will reduce sediment load to the estuary by a minimum of 6,200 cubic yards.
