Document Description
The City of Portola plans on utilizing 3.2 acres of previously disturbed uplands on the north and west side of the western most sewer pond for their Erosion Control Project. This land has been identified by Kelly Biological Consulting as not being potential US Army Corps of Engineers Watersof the US or wetlands. The project consists of planting of barley which is to be watered with clean final effluent with a seasonal surface irrigation system. A ditch and berm will be formed around the cultivated area to prevent any run off. When the barley reaches maturity it will be cut and baled and used for on-site erosion control.
